So far, we haven't seen any details about an official launch in the UK.
Xiaomi has already dropped enough hints that the upcoming Redmi-series smartphone will be a selfie-focused device and most probably launch as the Redmi Y2 in India.
Xiaomi Mi 8 sports a 6.21 inch Full HD+ (2248 x 1080 pixels) 18:7:9 AMOLED 2.5D Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In terms of software, it runs on Android 8.1 on top of Xiaomi's MIUI 10 skin.
The previous iteration, the Mi Band 2 was a great fitness band and featured some of the most sought after features in an extremely affordable price range. If you hate bezels, this phone is for you - 88.5 percent of the phone's body is screen (the iPhone X, by contrast, has only an 82.9 percent body-to-screen ratio).

Along with this, the processing unit of the phone comes with a 4GB/6GB RAM having 64GB of internal storage. The Explorer Edition has an in-display fingerprint reader. The infrared lighting system and camera are placed in the notch.
In practice things may be a bit different than what the benchmarks say, but if it's on the same level as its aforementioned rivals it should be a pretty easy sell for Xiaomi. Just like on the iPhone, you can record little animations of emoji that track your facial expressions. The downside is that like most limited edition Xiaomi phones, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition is unlikely to make its way outside of China.
