Israeli forces, on Friday, shot and killed three Palestinians, including a child, and injured more than 500 others as they descended on the continuing protests at the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health.

In their defense, Israelis said they were defending the frontier against crowds that threw stones and burned tyres in an attempt to cross. Israel said militants had attacked its forces with guns and grenades.

The remaining of the cases suffocated from teargas inhalation, and a lot of them were treated at field hospitals that were set up in the five main encampments of the protests at the border, WAFA reports. Of those wounded, 92 were hit by live fire while the rest suffered from tear gas inhalation, the news agency said.

The demonstration, titled the "March of a Million to Jerusalem", marked the 11th consecutive Friday of protests which are part of the larger "Great March of Return" movement, a protest movement which has resulted in many clashes between the IDF and Palestinians and more than 120 Palestinian deaths from Israeli army fire.

The death toll from Israel's lethal measures against the Gaza protests have drawn worldwide censure, though the United States has placed the blame on Hamas.

Israel, with USA support, has described the protests as a ploy by Hamas to breach its border, and says that its lethal tactics have been necessary to prevent that. Rights groups have said Israel's open-fire rules are unlawful.

The United Nations General Assembly announced Friday it would hold a meeting Wednesday to vote on a Palestinian resolution requesting support and protection for Gaza.

Palestinian U.N. Ambassador Riyad Mansour told reporters Friday that the Kuwaiti resolution was "extremely balanced", and he said nearly the same text will be put to a vote in the General Assembly.

World number 38 Khachanov accelerated away with the third set, earning a double break after Zverev missed a chance to hit back. Nishikori won just 14 points in the first set and nine in the second, losing to Thiem for the first time.

Mr Mansour said the United States veto triggered the request and that Friday's violence "adds to our argument and to the urgency of providing global protection" to Palestinian civilians.

Among those wounded by gunfire was an AFP photographer and a 23-year-old man who was on life support after a tear gas canister penetrated his face, medics said.

Israel captured east Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war and later annexed the area in a move not recognised by the global community.

The Israeli army said that it had repelled around 10,000 Palestinians who converged on five points of the border.

Roughly ten thousand Palestinians participated in violent riots along the Gaza security border on Friday and used dozens of terror kites and other explosives to hurt IDF soldiers and damage the border-fence, the spokesperson stated. There have been no Israeli casualties.

The Palestinians rejected the allegation, saying the Argentinians pulled out of the match as they realised Israel was using their presence for political gain.
