AMC's new service is about twice as expensive as MoviePass' offering, which charges customers $9.95 per month for daily trips to the movies, though subscribers can't view the same movie a few times or share their accounts with others. For $19.95 per month (plus tax), members can see up to three movies per week, including access to IMAX and 3D showings, multiple movies per day, and repeat visits to previously seen movies, all things that are now unavailable to MoviePass customers.
AMC's Stub A List Plan is set to launch on June 26 and interested users will be able to sign up via AMC's website. According to the company, MoviePass is accepted at more than 91 percent of theaters nationwide, including AMC Theatres. Now AMC has finally wised up to people wanting a subscription model and offered their own service. However, with MoviePass you get to see more movies per month at less of the cost, and you can go to nearly any theater in the United States to use the service (not just AMC theaters).
MoviePass has attracted 3 million members, but the stock price of the service's parent company, Helios and Matheson, has dropped from $38 a share to 44 cents a share. "AMC Stubs A-List is AMC's next evolution of delivering wonderful benefits to our loyal customers, and we're excited to continue to grow the program by leaps and bounds".
Sri Lanka were ready to forfeit St. Lucia Test
In its second innings, Sri Lanka lost Kusal Perera to a thick edge behind off Shannon Gabriel two overs before stumps. In March this year, Australia were caught tampering with the ball in the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town.
In this Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, photo, Cassie Langdon uses to her phone to launch the MoviePass app to see what movies are available at AMC Indianapolis 17 theatre in Indianapolis. Even though it limits users to three movies a week (no rollover), there's no calendar day restriction, and they can see the same movie a couple of times, which MoviePass users can't. On its official Twitter page, MoviePass accuses AMC Theatres of "repeatedly" attempting to sabotage them while looking to turn a profit of its own.
Meanwhile, outside of the three ticket per week allotment, the service also offers all of the existing benefits of an AMC Stubs Premiere membership. Plus, at least for the time being, that $9.95 a month price point is still more attractive.
