After the tour, the prince - second in line to the British throne - was greeted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, at their official residence in Jerusalem against the backdrop of British and Israeli flags.

Britain's Prince William landed at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday evening for the first official visit by a member of the royal family since the end of the British Mandate.
According to Kensington Palace, William is making the trip "at the request of Her Majesty's Government", and over the course of the tour of Israel, he will also visit the city of Jaffa.

The Duke of Cambridge is set to meet two survivors who escaped Nazi Germany for the safety of Britain.
Britain captured Palestine from the Ottoman empire in 1917 during World War One and administered the territory under worldwide mandate until 1948, pulling out a day before Israel declared independence. The Duke of Cambridge remarked about how the Duchess loved living in Jordan for two and a half years.
Later in the day, William planned to meet young people participating in a soccer-based youth programme in Tel Aviv and deliver a speech at a reception at the British ambassador's residence.
Ahead of the visit, the prince caused a stir in Israel when the royal itinerary described east Jerusalem, including the Old City, as part of the "Occupied Palestinian Territories".
The Israelis seized the West Bank and east Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Six-Day War.
