Statistically, according to the NH Division of Public Health Services, one in ten people who become infected die from the disease.
Legionnaires' disease is treated with antibiotics and often requires hospitalization.
"Both patients have risks for Legionnaires' disease and have been discharged from the hospital". People who take drugs that weaken their immune system, such as chemotherapy, or suffer from underlying illnesses like diabetes, kidney failure, or liver failure, are also at a greater risk.
