The 2019 Grammy Awards started off with a bang Sunday night.
The surprise was welcomed and praised by many.
Each of the superstars took turns to talk about what music meant to them.
Alicia Keys finished off the powerful moment by adding: "What is better than this?" The cheers from the crowd were deafening. "Please, can I bring some of my sisters out here tonight?" The Grammys, Alicia, will "be about the celebration and the power of music".

They won just 22 games last season without Randolph and Allen, and Conley out most of the season with an injured heel. Bradley averaged 8.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 49 games for the Clippers this season.

Women artists scored nominations in all of the top categories, after being largely muted a year ago: rapper Cardi B, pop diva Lady Gaga, pop futurist Janelle Monae and folk rocker Brandi Carlile are among the frontrunners.
The film's chart-topping soundtrack, Black Panther: The Album, is up for album of the year, and the single All the Stars, by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, is nominated for record of the year, song of the year, best rap/sung performance and best song written for visual media. Though the ceremony went host-less from 2006 to 2011, LL Cool J and James Corden steered the ship in the following seven years. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ella Mai, H.E.R., Hugh Jackman, Stingy, Shaggy, Dave Chappelle, "Weird Al" Yankovic, the late Chris Cornell, Greta Van Fleet and even former President Jimmy Carter also picked up early awards ahead of the live show. "And I feel so blessed to be able to be coming now, just in support of so many fantastic people that are honored - especially so many women that are [going to be] honored - and are gonna be celebrated that night", she shared.
