King broached the subject of two women who are now living with him, 23-year-old Joycelyn Savage and 21-year-old Azriel Clary; the women's parents have claimed that their daughters are being held in an R. Kelly "cult", an allegation first made public in a 2017 BuzzFeed investigation. They say they haven't heard from her in two years.
Cook County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ that R. Kelly's headed to jail for failure to pay child support.
The singer is charged with having sexually abused four other women years ago, including three who were underage at the time.
"CBS This Morning" broadcast part of an interview with Kelly earlier Wednesday in which he said the allegations against him are all lies. Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, has said his client did not "knowingly" have sex with underage girls.
Kelly was acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008 that centered on a graphic video that prosecutors said showed him having sex with a girl as young as 13.
If convicted, Kelly is facing up to 70 years behind bars.
A lawyer representing the couple bristled at the allegation, saying Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage never asked for or received money from Kelly. Kelly had sex with me when I was under the age of 18.
"He also indicated that these parents came forward after the money stopped", the attorney said about Kelly in a press conference on Wednesday. "You love them; they say they love you".
Paul Predicting SCOTUS Will Strike Down Trump's Emergency Declaration
Many former national security officials also signed onto a statement that publicly rebuked the emergency declaration on Monday. The resolution blocking Trump's emergency declaration appeared to clinch the 51 votes needed to pass the Senate when Sen.
The singer has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.
Although it's 100% evident, R. Kelly did not pay his way to freedom. The network says it will air more from the interview on Thursday and Friday. But paperwork on the back child support was made public in Kelly's criminal court file.
"We are a solid family, we care about our daughter".
Kelly says he's done "lots of things wrong" when it comes to women, but he says he's apologized.
"Use your common sense", he continued, raising his voice and turning to address the camera.
"How stupid would it be for me with my insane past and what I've been through [to say], 'Oh right now, I just think I need to be a monster and hold girls against their will and chain them up in my basement?"
Kelly has been associated with accusations of abuse, manipulation and inappropriate encounters with girls and young women for more than two decades.
