Samsung launched its first foldable device, the Galaxy Fold, alongside the Galaxy S10 series and the phone will be available starting April 26 in the USA and May 3 in Europe.

According to the report, the vertically folding phone should come in late 2019 or early 2020.

Overnight, everybody started Googling "foldable phones" because some of us were confused whether these companies just brought back the good old flip phone and made a decision to call it something else. Similar to the way its Galaxy Note opened the door to a rush on big phones, Samsung clearly hopes that it can once again lead the way into a growing market as smartphone sales cool off.

The company gained 42 per cent of smartphone consumers in the UAE and it is looking to Oman for more users as the sultanate demands higher-end phones, Mr Sabbagh said.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold has been divisive since its launch last month, with some people finding it a smart solution to the folding challenge and others bemoaning its large front bezels and small primary screen.

However, it was said such a characteristic could be removed based on customer reactions to the cover display on the Galaxy Fold.

In the meantime, the company is trying to flawless the Galaxy Fold's bendy display.

It's been barely a fortnight since the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Fold. There are three Leica cameras (current on a sidebar together with an influence button and a fingerprint scanner) which double as entrance cameras too when the smartphone is folded.

The Galaxy S10 starts at Rs 66,900 for the 128GB version, while the 512GB variant costs Rs 84,900. According to Bloomberg, Samsung is now using mock-ups to fine-tune the design and this could be a successor to its W series flip-phones for the Chinese market. Samsung is apparently considering offering free screen replacements for affected users, however.
