The Northern Irishman was speaking to the press ahead of this weekend's Arnold Palmer Invitational, from which Woods has withdrawn due to neck strain. The Arnold Palmer has been a favorite hunting ground for Woods over the years, with the 43-year-old winning at Bay Hill a record 8 times.
"Unfortunately due to a neck strain that I've had for a few weeks, I'm forced to withdraw from the API", Woods tweeted. "I've been receiving treatment, but it hasn't improved enough to play", Woods said.
The 14-time major victor insists that it is not a long-term complaint, but his history of back injuries makes the concern inevitable.

Polite stopped after hurting his hamstring and will have to try and rebuild his stock before the draft. The 2019 NFL Scouting Combine continues to roll on as Day 4 came and went Saturday in Indianapolis.
Woods did not say how he suffered the neck strain but there was nothing about his play at the WGC-Mexico Championship, where he tied for 10th eight days ago, to suggest he was not healthy.
Tiger added that he's hoping to be ready for The Players Championship beginning on March 14.
Adam Hadwin, Corey Conners and Roger Sloan are at Bay Hill for the second stop in the PGA Tour's Florida swing. Instead of rest, and in a somewhat surprising decision, Woods travelled directly to Mexico to play in the WGC Mexico Championship. If Woods is able to play in next week's Players Championship (and he is sure to do everything he can to play), then that leaves only two more realistic tournaments to play before the Masters in early April. Cold temperatures and weather delays at the Genesis Open in California made for a long week, with Woods and many others forced to play almost 54 holes on the weekend.
