US President Donald Trump on Friday accused the Democratic Party of being anti-Israel and anti-Jewish, a day after the US House of Representatives passed a revised resolution condemning bigotry, instead of the originally drafted resolution which focused exclusively on antisemitism.
Blackwell pointed out that Republicans "have said "nobody knows what's in President Trump's heart" and you have said 'I don't know what's in his heart but I know what comes out of his mouth.' Are we not judging them by different scales here?"
He called a resolution the House passed in the wake of the congresswoman's remarks about politicians being influenced by Jewish donors a "disgrace".
The resolution was originally meant to deliver a direct rebuke of anti-Semitism following comments by a Muslim Democratic congresswoman, Ilhan Omar, that were deemed anti-Semitic and offensive by many colleagues.
"It is shameful that House Democrats won't take a stronger stand against anti-Semitism in their conference".
"The president is exactly right", Cheney continued.
Omar, who is Muslim, provoked the contentious debate by criticizing "people who push for allegiance to a foreign country" in comments she made in a Washington D.C. coffee shop last week. Omar, a Somali refugee who resettled in Minnesota, had sparked fiery debate with her repeated criticisms of Israel and how a powerful pro-Israel lobby in Washington exerts influence on United States politicians.

He said several thousand mainly women and children arrive daily and there is "no end in sight". ISIS is an alternative acronym for the extremist group.
"Real Time" host Bill Maher reversed course over allegations of anti-Semitism against Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, after previously defending her.
"I don't think it watered down the anti-Semitic language at all, I think it strengthened it", Pelosi responded.
Speaking to the Republican Jewish Coalition in 2015 during his presidential campaign, Trump said, "you're not going to support me because I don't want your money". "That's wrong", Sanders said.
Omar's colleagues - both Democratic and Republican - accused her of making repeated anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks about the purported sway Jewish people have over Congress.
"We are appalled, but not surprised, that President Trump has once again demonstrated dishonesty, hypocrisy and willingness to use anti-Semitism and Israel as a political football", said its executive director, Halie Soifer, reported The Times of Israel.
"We only wish the president had learned from this resolution, which defines anti-Semitism to include anti-Semitic tropes and conspiracy theories that he has repeatedly invoked himself", Soifer wrote.
