In the hand, the Galaxy A80 is a solid, premium looking and well-built device. Talking about the display, the Galaxy A80 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080×2400) Super AMOLED full Infinity Display, which means it's nearly bezel-less, with no notch or punch-hole. But at a starting price of $399.99, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e does at least manage to substantially undercut both 2018 iPad Pro variants, as well as the $500 and up 2019 iPad Air. The gimmick effectively repurposes the high-quality rear-facing cameras, ensuring you won't sacrifice quality when snapping selfies (most front-facing cameras are of lower quality than their rear-facing counterparts).
This is not the first time that a pop-up rotating camera has been added to a smartphone. I would not be upset if it launched in the USA, though. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 730G is meant for mid-range gaming smartphones, so hopefully the Galaxy A80 won't be a slacker on the gaming front. The battery capacity of the device has been revealed to be 3,700 mAh with. This swaps out the AMOLED panel for a 1920 x 1200 LCD one, the battery is downgraded to 6,150 mAh, and there's a choice between 2GB and 3GB of RAM compared to 4GB and 6GB on the Tab S5e. There is no 3.5mm audio jack in the smartphone, which will certainly irk some prospective buyers. The Galaxy A80 will launch on May 29th in several regions, including Europe, Asia, and Australia, and will be available in three colors: Angel Gold, Ghost White and Phantom Black.
